Integrative Medicine Services

Integrative medicine looks beyond isolated symptoms to understand
how your body’s systems are interacting as a whole.

At Instinctive Wellness, this work is grounded in a fusion of modern medical experience and functional medicine principles — using the strengths of both approaches to better understand why symptoms are occurring. Through a detailed clinical history, advanced laboratory testing, and careful attention to physiology, nutrition, environment, and stress, we identify patterns that may be driving illness or imbalance. Care is personalized, collaborative, and designed to support your body’s inherent capacity to heal, especially when something still feels off despite standard evaluations.

How Integrative Medicine Looks at the Whole System

Integrative medicine is not about replacing modern medicine, but about expanding the lens through which health is understood. By looking at how systems influence one another — digestion, hormones, immune function, nervous system regulation, metabolism, and environment — we can identify patterns that often don’t appear when each concern is addressed in isolation. This systems-based approach allows care to be more precise, more personalized, and more responsive to the lived experience of each client.

What Care Looks Like

Integrative medicine care at Instinctive Wellness is thoughtful, collaborative, and paced for meaningful change over time.

Instead of quick fixes or one-size-fits-all protocols, visits focus on understanding patterns, identifying priorities, and building a plan that is realistic for your life.

Clinical data matters. So do your symptoms, lived experience, timeline, environment, stress patterns, and the way your body responds over time. Deb uses her experience with complex cases to ask focused questions, notice subtle connections, and guide the medical work within an evidence-based, medically grounded framework.

Comprehensive Root-Cause Assessment

The Comprehensive Root-Cause Assessment is the most in-depth starting point for complex or long-standing health concerns.

Step 1: Discovery Call

Care begins with a complimentary 15-minute video Discovery Call.

This helps determine whether this approach is a good fit for your needs and gives us a chance to begin the onboarding process. If you decide to move forward, initial symptom forms are generated, relevant records are requested, and your full Comprehensive Root-Cause Assessment can be scheduled.

A 50% deposit is collected when the full initial appointment is scheduled.

Step 2: Full Initial Appointment

The full initial appointment typically lasts 2 hours. More complex cases may require additional time.

This visit includes a thorough review of your health history, current concerns, goals, prior labs, specialist evaluations, diagnostic imaging, and relevant records. This is where the deeper medical detective work begins.

The goal is to build a fuller picture of your health and identify the patterns that may be driving illness, inflammation, dysfunction, or imbalance. A comprehensive physical exam is also performed as part of this process.

Step 3: Testing and Pattern Review

After the initial visit, appropriate laboratory testing may be ordered through Quest or LabCorp. These labs are often covered by insurance, aside from deductibles, copays, or plan limitations. Imaging may also be ordered through insurance when clinically indicated.

Discounted self-pay lab options are available when needed.

Depending on your presentation, additional specialized testing may be recommended. This may include testing related to hormones, nutrition, gut health, toxins, inflammation, immune function, infections, or other contributing factors.

Deb may also recommend a single Reiki session early in care. This is never required and is not diagnostic. However, it may add useful insight into nervous system patterns, stress physiology, and the broader healing process.

Step 4: Follow-Up and Care Plan

Findings are reviewed together during follow-up care, with clear education along the way.

Your treatment plan is developed collaboratively and may include nutrition guidance, lifestyle changes, targeted supplementation, referrals, medications when appropriate, and ongoing adjustments based on how your body responds.

The Core Healing Program

The Core Healing Program builds on the Comprehensive Root-Cause Assessment by adding more structure, continuity, and support over time.

This option is designed for patients who want help not only understanding their case, but also staying engaged with the process of implementing care in real life.

Healing often requires observation, adjustment, and follow-through. The Core Healing Program creates a stronger container for that process, with monthly visits, built-in secure message or refill blocks, and discounted access to additional services when needed.

During the Discovery Call, we can help clarify whether the standard Comprehensive Root-Cause Assessment is enough for your needs or whether the added structure of the Core Healing Program would be a better fit.

Focused Integrative Visits

Focused Integrative Visits are designed for step-by-step care around one specific concern at a time.

This option may be a good fit if you are not ready for a full Comprehensive Root-Cause Assessment, want help with a specific issue, or prefer to move toward better health in smaller, more manageable steps.

These visits still use a functional, integrative, root-cause lens. However, they do not include the same level of full-history review, extensive paperwork, or deep case investigation as the Comprehensive Root-Cause Assessment.

Because of that, the complimentary 15-minute Discovery Call is optional for Focused Integrative Visits. It is generally only needed if you have questions or want help deciding which care path is the best fit.

To schedule this type of visit, please choose “Problem” or “Telehealth Problem” when booking through the patient portal.

Your Detailed Care Plan

After appointments, you will receive a written care plan that summarizes key discussion points and outlines next steps.

This plan is designed to be practical, clear, and easy to reference. You are welcome to share it with other members of your healthcare team to support collaboration and continuity of care.

Specialized Labs

Specialized testing may be recommended when it can clarify the clinical picture or guide treatment decisions. Testing is chosen individually and is not required for every patient.

Pricing

Many people arrive at integrative medicine after years of feeling unheard, rushed, or treated one symptom at a time. Instinctive Wellness was designed in response to that experience, with a model of care that is collaborative, thorough, and systems-based.

Root-cause care is labor-intensive, collaborative, and pattern-based. Rather than addressing a single issue per visit, we look at the whole system together — and how symptoms, labs, history, and lived experience connect over time. Care at Instinctive Wellness is collaborative and team-based, with shared decision-making and clear communication throughout the process. When patients and clinician work together at the table, care tends to be more effective, more sustainable, and better aligned with real life.

Change doesn’t come from doing more of the same—it comes from looking differently and working together. By approaching health with curiosity, collaboration, and a broader lens, new options and more sustainable outcomes can emerge.

Pricing reflects not only time spent in visits, but also the preparation, review, documentation, and clinical work required to support your care. When additional time beyond a scheduled appointment is needed, it is billed transparently based on time spent. Time-based pricing supports fairness, clarity, and the ability to provide thoughtful, unrushed care tailored to each individual—rather than relying on standardized protocols or one-size-fits-all approaches.

Payment Options

Understanding Insurance & Payment Options

Effective December 1st, 2021, Instinctive Wellness transitioned to a fully self-pay practice due to substantial changes in insurance reimbursement rates that no longer support extended visit times. However, depending on your plan, you may have out-of-network benefits that can help offset the cost of visits.

Please review your insurance plan to determine if you have any out-of-network benefits and if so, you will be provided documentation that you may submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. This will include all necessary information for the insurance company to assess eligibility for reimbursement. It’s important to note that Instinctive Wellness cannot guarantee the receipt or amount of reimbursement. For any reimbursement-related inquiries, your healthcare plan administrator is best equipped to provide accurate information.

If you have any questions about this, Deb can answer those during your
