Deb’s Journey
Deb Reid, a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Reiki Master, brings over two decades of experience in the medical field and energy therapy. Initially trained as a Biochemist, she went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Nursing from Pace University in 2000 and has extensive experience in Hospice, Family Practice, and Emergency Medicine. Throughout nursing school, Deb delved into Therapeutic Touch, progressing to advanced training in Usui Reiki Ryôhô, achieving Master level status in 2010. As of December 2014, she is a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner.
Deb’s journey into Functional Medicine and Reiki stemmed from her own health challenges and her family’s history of early onset chronic conditions. Faced with numerous medications by the age of 32, she sought a holistic approach, transforming her diet and lifestyle to witness remarkable health improvements and a reduced need for most medications. Evolving from a reliance on daily Motrin to managing a vibrant, pain-free life, Deb continues her commitment to daily health improvement. For more information, see the video below regarding her health journey.
Having overcome Mast Cell Activation Syndrome from significant mold illness and COVID long-hauler syndrome with Functional Medicine, and finding solace in Reiki for stress and cPTSD, Deb is dedicated to guiding clients on their unique wellness paths. She believes that health is a personal journey, recognizing that everyone starts from a different place, yet each step taken can profoundly enhance life.
Residing in Maryland with Clementine, her canine companion and Official Office Greeter, Deb cherishes outdoor activities like camping, hiking, and canoeing during her leisure time. She also finds joy in dancing, quilting, and capturing the beauty of nature through photography.
